Reservations

A reservation can only be considered to be confirmed and guaranteed:

1. Upon receipt of a letter of confirmation accompanied by the necessary deposit. OR

2. If the hotel has received a valid credit card number with supporting information to process a deposit or to act as a guarantee for bookings made at short notice. If time permits the Hotel will, normally, send a written letter of confirmation along with a receipt for the deposit paid.

Deposits

For a stay of 1-3 nights a deposit of £50 is required to secure all advance bookings. For a stay of 4 nights or more the deposit is £100. Deposits are only refundable at the absolute discretion of the hotel management and also if the hotel has been able to re-let the accommodation.

Payment of Accounts

Payment upon departure is accepted by either personal cheque with supporting Bankers Card, Cash, MasterCard, Visa, Maestro and Solo.

Cancellations

When a reservation is made both the guest and the hotel management enter into a legally binding contract. In the event of a booking being cancelled, particularly at short notice, the law provides for the hotel to render a cancellation charge, which will not be just for the deposit paid, and may be for a substantial sum. The usual formula for calculating a cancellation charge is the total value of the reservation less VAT multiplied by 66%. The deposit paid would then be deducted leaving a balance cost payable. Prior to this, however, hoteliers must try to minimise their loss by attempting to re-let the accommodation. We would therefore, as recommended and endorsed by the South West Tourist Board, politely draw your attention to consideration of Holiday Cancellation Insurance, details of which are available from the Hotel.

The Management reserves the right to alter these terms and prices at its absolute discretion without prior notice.
